WINTER WORKSHOPS

Portrait (ongoing)- Fridays 6 to 8 pm. Learn to sketch, draw and paint the likeness of your sitter. Using a live model we will explore academic techniques as well as a more painterly alla-prima techniques. All levels welcome. 145.00 1/6, 1/13, 1/20,1/27. Space is limited to 5 students. Young Artists Series

(Ongoing) - Saturdays 1:30 to 2:30 pm. 7 to 12 years. Students are encouraged to experiment with art materials at their own pace. Students will also be exposed to classical art techniques using paint, color pencil, clay and plasteline. Each month will have a different artistic theme. 95.00 all supplies are included.

January- 7, 14, 21 KNIGHTS, DRAGONS and Other MYTHICAL CREATURES - Students will study figure anatomy and proportion as well as animal anatomy while creating their own mythical creatures. We will work with 2d and 3d media.

February- 4,11,18 COMICS & SEQUENTIAL ART-Students will create their own comic sequence . They brainstorm their story line, and will then draw, ink and color their comic book.

March- 3,10,17 LEONARDO and THE ITALIAN RENNISSANCE . Students will look at drawings and paintings from the Renaissance and will experiment with materials from that time. We will work with red chalk and egg tempera on panels.

April- 7,14,28 WATERCOLOR AND THE STILL LIFE . This month we will focus on observation and accurately recording what we see. We will also work with our watercolor "mistakes" as a source of inspiration.

Teen Portfolio- Are you thinking of going to art school? Let's work together to put your best pieces into a spectacular portfolio. We meet weekly and work on one or two pieces per week. 35.00 per consultation. 4 week commitment necessary.
