Imagination Station -This class offers young artists an opportunity to enhance their artistic skills and creativity. Students explore and create functional and expressive artworks in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Students in this individualized learning environment will use a variety of two and three dimensional art media and techniques. Perfect for the young aspiring artist of any ability.Ages 7 to 10. All Materials Included $65.00

 

Teen Artist Series-This is a class for the serious high school art student. Based on traditional atelier techniques, students will learn the fundamentals of drawing and painting. Great class for those considering art as a focus in their future. Basic 2-D and 3-D fundamentals will be introduced and explored. Sample topics include; line, form, space, time, value, hue, theme and concept, etc.. A variety of artists will be discussed throughout the sessions. Students will be creating portfolio ready pieces in a variety of mediums. Emphasis will be placed on learning the basic skills as well as strengthening visual problem solving abilities. (No previous experience necessary. ) Materials Included.

 

Portrait-Learn the fine art of portrait painting using 19th and early 20th century techniques start with a drawing, move on to an under painting and Grisaille and finish in full color. Alla Prima techniques will also be explored. Students will be working from the a life model. Beginners to advanced painters are all welcome, everyone moves at their own pace. Intro to Painting Using classical European techniques and the exploration of still lifes, the class will cover everything from choosing a color scheme, palette, and composition to how to apply paint with the brush. (Material list available)

 

Cartooning & Anime-Students will learn to draw their favorite character and will also develop the skills and techniques to produce their own cartoon illustration .Students will be taken through all the procedures needed to create their own comic sequence. The class will also create a 3-D figure of their character in action.

 

Classical Water Color Techniques for the Young Artist -The young artist (ages 10 to 13) will create a classical water color painting every week. Students will learn to control this most often elusive medium. Contemporary techniques will also be explored. Materials Included.

 

Plein Air Painting- Come an paint the great outdoors. Take advantage of the beauty of the hudson valley. Enjoy nature and art simultaneously in the tradition of Innes, Coles, and Frederic Edwin Church. All mediums and levels welcome.
